Pastor Paul Conway
In this season God has been teaching me a lot of things! Every day I prioritize going on a walk on my favorite trail at Mines Falls. Afterwards, I sit by the waterfall to reflect and pray. God has been teaching me how to be still in His presence. When I normally pray I either walk around and talk to God out loud or I sit and journal my prayers. Lately God has been showing me how to stop, sit, and be silent. In Ps. 46 it states that "God is our refuge and strength”...and to “be still and know that I am God." In this season God has been teaching me how to take moments of pausing whether it is on my living room floor or by a waterfall. This has helped me connect deeper with God. So often we think about our devotion life as praying, reading Scriptures, and fasting, but I think there is another element that we often overlook. I believe that element is meditation and sitting silent in God's presence. Psalm 19:14 states: "May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer." God has been teaching me how He is my rock and strength in this season. The more I sit in His presence the more and more that He supremely shows up to demonstrate His presence to me."
